Post Scriptum
Branding, Identity
[2022]
Savannah College of Art & Design
Background
COVID-19 has sparked the rise of stay-at-home hobbies such as Penpaling. However, due to international mail shipping difficulties, and post offices becoming less accessible, people found themselves at an impasse. This brings a huge opportunity to digitize this traditional form of communication.
Objective
How do we rethink the way we communicate with people during lockdown?
Approach
Post Scriptum rethinks the way we communicate with people. By digitizing a traditional practice, it facilitates people to connect with eachother worldwide, and creates a more secure method of sending and receiving letters. In order to avoid users to use the app for casual texting or emails, Post Scriptum simulates the time it takes for a physical letter to be mailed, depending on the location, and displays the time progress on an interactive map. Users can customize letters with stickers, change the font, background, colour, and even set their own profile showing off their achievements, badges, preferences, stamps and so much more.

Logo
The feather monogram is based on a quill, an old writing tool made from a feather of a large bird. Our app is a traditional practice made easy, thanks to the help of modern technology. The feather is depicted in a minimal and memorable way, but still crediting the long-established form of tradition communication.
